I love, love, love that a birthday cake post can generate such blogging action: I was so disappointed that at the grand old age of twenty something my Auntie (who some how ended up making cakes for all ten of her nephews and neices (and then each of their kids in turn) decided enough was enough!
My birhtday is on the 5th of June: girls that gives you lots of time to practice! x

As you can see, my lack of artistic talent, patience and fussiness are still nowhere to be seen. As a wise and sexy man once said 'We're doing it for the kids,' and I reckon he's right. Slap it on, a few dolly mixtures and a lot of love. No doubt Rick would like to tidy it up but I'd break his arm. Its my thing and he aint gettin near it.

I'm impressed! I too have started down the road of cakes - my mum made one for all of us every birthday, and we've all kept up the tradition, even Becca made one for wee Rachel this year.

We made a schoolboy error last year though - a Thomas cake which Paul (being a perfectionist and more artistic than me) spent about 2 hours icing/decorating. We'll never achieve such high standards again, and he was too young to remember it!

You really are something - you will need to give me a baking lesson one day! Although I don't think I could cope with the pressure - especially if my flapjacks are anything to go by, they're rocks!! Mind you it hasn't stopped me eating them! Typical!

I have a class I absolutely love too, first time it's happened - not one 'bad' pupil in the whole class, and I've already begged my HOD to let me have them next year again for GCSE (I've had them since Yr 8, albeit with a couple of maternity leaves in there). I actually miss them, and am planning a trip into school this week purely because I promised them I would!

Yay, well done! Never mind being a proper grown up though, first I need to know how to get a child potty trained - changing 2 sets of nappies every day is getting quite annoying, how did my granny cope with triplets in the 1950s?

We are not worthy Lily. I have neither mother in law nor kids; and thai bo would probably kill me. I haven't even completely finished the dreaded mock marking and the reports await- not worthy at all.
Give my love to your poorly Angels and I send some to you.
